Ian Simmons launched Kicking the Seat in 2009, one week after seeing Nora Ephron’s Julie & Julia. His wife proposed blogging as a healthier outlet for his anger than red-faced, twenty-minute tirades (Ian is no longer allowed to drive home from the movies).
The Kicking the Seat Podcast followed three years later and, despite its “undiscovered gem” status, Ian thoroughly enjoys hosting film critic discussions, creating themed shows, and interviewing such luminaries as Gaspar Noé, Rachel Brosnahan, Amy Seimetz, and Richard Dreyfuss.
Ian is a member of the Chicago Film Critics Association. He also has a family, a day job, and conflicted feelings about referring to himself in the third person.
The Neo Geo was a legendary arcade system introduced by SNK in 1990, known for its high-quality graphics and sound. It was popular for its wide range of games, many of which have become classics. However, due to the system's popularity and the cost of maintaining original hardware, enthusiasts and collectors often turn to emulation and ROMs to experience these games. Winkawaks and Neo Geo ROMs Winkawaks is a front-end or an emulator interface used to play various arcade games, particularly those from the Neo Geo system, on a computer. It simplifies the process of playing these games by providing a user-friendly interface to load and play ROMs.
