The rise of the digital economy, the gig economy, and the increasing importance of online presence have transformed the way individuals manage their careers. Social media platforms, in particular, have become essential tools for career development, with 70% of employers using social media to screen candidates (CareerBuilder, 2020). The literature on social media and career development highlights the importance of online presence in the job market. Studies have shown that a strong online presence can enhance career prospects (Back et al., 2010), improve networking opportunities (Kaplan & Haenlein, 2010), and increase visibility and credibility (Wagner et al., 2012). This study uses a mixed-methods approach, combining both quantitative and qualitative data. A survey of 500 professionals across various industries was conducted to gather quantitative data on social media usage and career development. Additionally, 20 in-depth interviews were conducted with professionals who have successfully leveraged social media to advance their careers.
